SewerGEMS Training: wastewater and stormwater systems

SewerGEMS Training: wastewater and stormwater systems

This training is designed to equip engineers and planners with the advanced skills needed to model, analyze, and manage both wastewater and stormwater systems using SewerGEMS. The course focuses on creating efficient, sustainable, and resilient sewer and stormwater networks, covering everything from design and hydraulic analysis to optimization and performance evaluation. Whether you are designing new systems or upgrading existing infrastructure, this training will help you address the complex challenges of managing both wastewater and stormwater effectively.

    Description

Throughout the course, you will learn how to model integrated wastewater and stormwater systems, including gravity and pressure-based sewers, stormwater drainage networks, and pump stations. The training covers key techniques for designing pipes, manholes, catch basins, and detention facilities, while considering critical factors like flow estimation, peak runoff, land use, and system hydraulics. You will also gain a strong understanding of how to integrate real-time data, GIS, and survey information into your models for accurate and reliable results. The training also emphasizes the importance of managing combined sewer systems, sewer overflow, and managing the impact of stormwater runoff. You will explore advanced features of SewerGEMS, such as inflow and infiltration (I&I) analysis, flood risk management, and water quality analysis, to optimize system performance and prevent costly infrastructure failures. Special focus is placed on the design of stormwater detention and retention systems, green infrastructure, and low-impact development (LID) techniques to reduce flooding and improve water quality.
